Wanting God

How much do you want to be close to God? Does your soul resonate with this expressed desire for God in Psalm 42 verses 1 and 2?

As a deer pants for flowing streams,
so pants my soul for you, O God.
My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God.

Push pause and think about that for a minute. In a time of drought, a deer pants in the hot sweltering heat as it seeks the refreshing cold water of a stream. In the same way, when we are in the midst of stress of one kind or another, our desire for God is intensified. We want to be close to God and experience His presence in our life. We want him to sooth our parched souls.

That is good, but what about when times are rosy, and everything is going well? Do we still thirst for the living God? One of the reasons we want God so badly when trouble hits is because we haven’t been seeking him when things are at ease. If we only seek God in the bad times, it may reveal that we really don’t know Him at all.

You see; to know God, we must first know Jesus. Watch my video on the Gospel on YouTube or read about it at the Kingdom of God and Christ to learn about knowing Jesus. Then seek Him all the time.

God bless you.
