Understanding God’s Omnipotence Matters

Understanding God’s omnipotence matters because it changes how we see our struggles, our prayers, and our hope.

First, God’s omnipotence gives us confidence.
We don’t pray to a weak God.
We don’t trust a God who tries—we trust a God who acts.
When life feels impossible, His power is not even close to its limit.

Second, God’s omnipotence gives us peace.
If God is all‑powerful, then nothing in our life is outside His reach.
Not our past.
Not our pain.
Not our circumstances.
We are never facing anything God cannot handle.

Third, God’s omnipotence gives us obedience.
A powerful God deserves a surrendered life.
We don’t obey because we’re strong—we obey because He is strong.
His commands are not suggestions; they are the words of the One who rules heaven and earth.

Finally, God’s omnipotence gives us hope.
Because God is all‑powerful, no situation is too far gone.
No heart is too hard.
No sin is too deep.
No story is too broken.
The God who raised Jesus from the dead can raise anything in your life.

Understanding God’s omnipotence matters because it reminds us that we are held by a God who never fails, never weakens, and never loses.

God’s Omnipotence

God’s power isn’t like ours—limited, fragile, or fading. His omnipotence means He is able to save, sustain, and strengthen His people without ever running out. Trust the God who never hits His limit.

God’s omnipotence means this: God has all power, and nothing can limit Him.
Not time.
Not creation.
Not human rebellion.
Not the forces of darkness.
Nothing.

When we say God is omnipotent, we don’t mean He can do nonsense or contradictions—like make a square circle. We mean everything that is possible, everything that is consistent with His nature, everything that aligns with His perfect will—He can do it.

He speaks, and galaxies appear.
He wills, and history bends.
He commands, and creation obeys.

And the beauty of God’s omnipotence is this:
His power is never separated from His goodness.
He doesn’t use His strength to crush, but to save.
He doesn’t use His might to intimidate, but to redeem.
He doesn’t use His authority to dominate, but to deliver.

So when Scripture says, “Nothing is impossible with God,” it’s not exaggeration.
It’s reality.
The God who created everything from nothing…
The God who holds the universe together by His word…
The God who raised Jesus from the dead…
That God is the One who hears your prayers.

God’s omnipotence means He is never overwhelmed, never outmatched, never exhausted, and never unsure.
He is able—always able—to do what He promises.

God's Attributes - Immutability - God never changes in His nature or character

God never changes — and that’s not a limitation, it’s perfection. The same God who spoke creation is the same God who holds His people today.

God’s immutability means this: God does not change.
Not in His character.
Not in His purposes.
Not in His promises.
Not in His nature.

Everything in creation changes.
People change.
Circumstances change.
Our emotions change.
Our plans change.
Our strength changes.
Our desires change.
Even our convictions shift over time.

But God is not like us.
He doesn’t grow, improve, decline, evolve, or adapt.
He doesn’t wake up in a different mood.
He doesn’t rethink His holiness.
He doesn’t reconsider His love.
He doesn’t rewrite His promises.
He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Since God is self‑existent, infinite, eternal, He is perfect.
So of course He is unchanging — because change requires imprecation, lack, need, or growth.
God has no lack.
God has no need.
God has no room to grow.
He is already perfect in every way.

Immutability means God is the one fixed point in a spinning world.
The anchor that doesn’t move.
The foundation that doesn’t crack.
The God who doesn’t shift with culture, emotion, or time.

That is the glory of God’s immutability.
