Depressed? Hopeless?

In today’s world, depression and hopelessness is not just common but can be considered an epidemic. What should Christians do in these circumstances? Turn to Psalm 42 and listen to verse 5 and part of 6.

Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God.

If we know Jesus, then we must ask ourselves why our souls are so downcast and in turmoil. After we ask, we must also answer with the only thing that can possibly give us hope.

We must place our hope in God and praise Him because our salvation comes from Him. We must praise Him because He is sovereign. He is in control, not the evil forces of wickedness.

Verse 6 also says, “therefore I remember You.” When we forget who is in charge, we must remember it is the Lord God Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth who is in control. He has determined from the beginning what will happen and how it will end with Jesus’ return to bring justice and everlasting peace.

If you don’t know Jesus, then there can be no real hope in your life. To know Jesus, Watch my video on the Gospel on YouTube.

Heart Problems

What is the real problem with wicked people?

It is expressed clearly in Psalm 36 verses 1-2.

Transgression speaks to the wicked deep in his heart;
there is no fear of God before his eyes.
For he flatters himself in his own eyes
that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.

The problem is a heart problem. They are wicked because they don’t fear God.

The psalmist isn’t just talking about being afraid of God.

The problem is that there it no reverence for God.

There is no understanding about how awesome he is.

They think they are greater than God and can hide their evil deeds from God.

If they knew God, then they would understand that not only does God see what they are doing, but he will repay them for what they do.

God does hate their evil.

What about you? Do you think God doesn’t see your sins.

Do you think he will ignore them just because you aren’t as bad as the next person?

Well, think again. Your only hope is to know God through Jesus Christ.

God bless you.
