Love the Lord!

Do you love the Lord?

In Psalm 31 verses 23 and 24 David tells us this after he has asked the Lord to rescue him.

Love the Lord, all you his saints!
The Lord preserves the faithful
but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who wait for the Lord!

What have I learned from this? First, truly loving the Lord is only for his saints. Saints are not super godly people who have died and are now in heaven.

Saints are people who has trusted Jesus for salvation. We are called saints over and over in the New Testament.

We are the ones that have put our faith in Jesus and he preserves us. That means we will never lose our salvation.

Prideful people trust in themselves and not Jesus and this says they will be repaid. You don’t want to be in that place.

This doesn’t mean we have a trouble-free life, but that we should be courageous in our faith in Jesus and wait for him. Jesus is coming back.
