God’s Attributes - Holiness -

God’s holiness means this: God is perfectly pure, morally flawless, and completely set apart from everything sinful, common, or corrupt.
He is not merely better than us.
He is not simply the highest version of goodness.
He is in a category by Himself — radiant in perfection, unstained by evil, and worthy of total reverence.

And holiness does not stand disconnected from God’s other attributes. It shapes them all.
God’s love is holy love — never selfish, sentimental, or impure.
God’s justice is holy justice — never biased, corrupt, or cruel.
God’s wisdom is holy wisdom — never deceptive or foolish.
God’s power is holy power — never abusive or uncontrolled.
God’s goodness is holy goodness — perfectly pure in every intention and action.

Because God is self-existent, His holiness depends on nothing outside Himself.
Because He is transcendent, His holiness is above creation.
Because He is infinite, His holiness has no limit.
Because He is eternal, His holiness never began and will never end.
Because He is immutable, His holiness never changes.
Because He is incomparable, no one is holy like the Lord.

That means God does not adjust His standard to fit our culture, our feelings, or our preferences.
He is the standard.
He is the measure of what is pure, right, beautiful, and good.

God’s holiness should make us humble.
It should make us reverent.
But for the believer, it should also make us grateful — because the holy God did not stay distant from sinners. In Christ, He came near to cleanse, redeem, and make His people holy.

That is the glory of God’s holiness.
